Welcome to Avenir Cinéma: a film club and magazine created by people who love watching original pictures and hunger for more of them to be made.

Yes, the barriers to filmmaking are lower than ever but they're still high. Films, shows, and performances of all kinds need a crew, a budget, a network, someone with executive function and a working knowledge of StudioBinder.

Somewhere there's a screenplay that should have been the film of the year. It's sitting in a drawer, or on a desk, or maybe saved in the "SCRIPTS" folder on a Macbook because the right person hasn't read it yet. Perhaps nobody has read it at all. There's a novel that never got optioned, an actor who should be a star, a would-be award-winning director whose first feature is stuck in their minds eye.

We want to see them all.

So it feels only fitting to launch with our own festival for the work we can't watch on a screen, a stage, or anywhere yet. Join us for three days of events that celebrate stories meant to be performed, projected, seen and felt by an audience.
