Every great story starts with a writer. A seed in someone's mind. A tale flowering from their sorrow, their pleasure, their boredom. Something that happened or that never happened. The greatest films, television, and plays begin as an idea teeming with new life, flourishing with dreams, because someone has something to say and they need to say it right now! The things we love to watch are first conceived of in the wild imagination of a writer; and by chance, politics, a misalignment of the stars, many will stay on pages in drawers and desktop files or floating somewhere in the cloud forever. This winter we're launching a showcase for scripts that could be great cinema someday. Look through the windows of worlds that are yet to be. This is Avenir Cinéma. Coming December 2026.
